Have you ever heard of natto?

Natto is essentially fermented soybeans which are popular in Japanese culture.  A three ounce portion contains 15 grams of protein and 178 calories and various vitamins such as Vitamin E, B2, and K2. I was hesitant on making natto but I finally had the guts to make it yesterday and they turned out great!  I want to share my experience making natto in this blog post.




  • Tupperware
  • Cloth (I used a handkerchief and it worked fine!)
  • Spoon
  •  Heating Mat (I  ordered mine off Amazon)

For making natto, I could give a long description on how I did it… but I think it would be easiest if you just watched this YouTube video–>(How to make easiest natto(Method to use the Natto bacteria)). He does a great job at explaining how to make natto! I didn’t realize how simple it could be until I tried it out myself.


I personally love natto but I must say it is quite an acquired taste.  You either love it or you hate it.  So, I guess this means you have to try it out (:
